Our story starts here…
Mission Road Church was founded in 2000 and formerly known as the Loma Linda Japanese Church. Originally fellowshipping in a rented church on Alabama street the congregation moved around the Loma Linda and Redlands region several times over the ensuing years until finding their way back to their roots when the original rental property on Alabama went up for sale. We praise God for the miraculous circumstances that lead to this purchase and are grateful for the Christian developers of the parcel who wanted to see it remain a church.
The property was purchased in 2014 and since then we've grown and are working to further develop this property to better serve the needs of both the English and Japanese congregations. A formal building project was organized in 2016 to help steer the development process.
A series of improvements have been made to the property including a new roof, exterior paint and improvements to the Sabbath School rooms from paint to flooring & windows.
Phase 1 - The Courtyard
2021
We created a permanent courtyard that combined with shade from trees creates a beautiful location for events, fellowship & potluck every week nearly year round.
Phase 2 - The Campus
We’re developing nearly 80% of our property in 2026
Campus wide parking, landscape, courtyard storage & street signage
Permanent courtyard stage and baptistry
Nearly 1 acre of land on our western edge will remain
Phase 3 - New Worship Building
We’re building a new home for worship in 2026
The most dramatic changes come in phase 3 with a new multipurpose worship building the English congregation will worship in along with a refreshed sanctuary for our Japanese congregation.
